On your mark, ready, go!
CasaSito’s New Regional Directors and Board Chairwoman welcome you to the 2019 school year and
its 15 anniversary year with their 102 scholars in the youth development program.
The Opening Ceremonies were celebrated with enthusiasm and motivation.
n Alta Verapaz, we celebrated with group activities, a Mayan invocation and
a beautiful presentation of the Maya Ball game by cultural artistic group Nawal Winaq.
In the Primavera del Ixcán Community, around the bonfire,
we appreciated the talents of the young people who sang and recited poems,
a precious moment shared with our scholars and their family.
In Sacatepéquez, we celebrated the beginning of the year and the opening of our new office in Panorama, Antigua,
with a new mural, the ribbon cutting, group activities, and theater club performance!
We spent a lovely day like a family with good energy and a lot of love!
2019, we celebrate CasaSito’s 15 years of work and effort on behalf of Guatemalan youth.
We give infinite thanks to all the donors, friends, the board of directors and
CasaSito staff for contributing in different ways to the fulfillment of our mission.
We are very grateful for all the work done to date and we are looking forward to a year full of positive challenges
and where together we will continue building a better future.
– January, APETITO offered CasaSito the year’s first fundraising event!
A big thank for their joining the CasaSito family!
– February, we had the honor to have the Cuban group Buena Fe, Sara Curruchiche and Alfonso Rafael, in Antigua,
and then Buena Fe went all the way to La Primavera Ixcán to offer a free concert to the community.
And during this year, we will have more activities to mark 15 years of CasaSito.
Here are some of them and we hope many of you can join us.
– March 10: Art Exhitibion in Panza Verde, Antigua,
where you will see the work of our art club students from Sacatepequez and Alta Verapaz,
together with the artwork from the workshop of Guatemalan artist Alexis Rojas.
– April 5: Presentation of our theater group “Cuerdas Cortadas” in Panorama
– November 28: Thanksgiving Dinner
